Conscious Capitalism: Why it is imperative in today’s business environment and not a pipe dream

Your Executive Symphony is committed to business philosophies that produce real results, and Conscious Capitalism is the bedrock upon which results are produced.  In 2014, we featured a segment with companies that made the commitment to be conscious about how they produce results.  And a funny thing happened on the way to the forum:

  1. Did you know Interstate Batteries now recycles more batteries than it sells?
  2. Did you know that Waste Management is rapidly increasing revenues due to the consulting business that REDUCES waste?
  3. Did you know that Costco outpaces all competitors?  Sam’s Club generates $586 per square foot; Costco $1,000 per square foot.

The Granddaddy of them all?  Whole Foods.  Memorial Day, 1981: the floods in Austin killed 13 people and caused millions in damage to the city at large.  The flood wiped out the very first Whole Foods store only eight months after it opened.  They had no insurance, no savings, no warehoused inventory and no options.  Until….people started to show up at the store.  Team members worked for free, customers showed up in work clothes to mop, and suppliers extended credit.  The result: Whole Foods re-opened in an amazing 28 days for business and became the company we know and love today.

There will always be challenges and change; being conscious in our capitalistic endeavors allows our creativity to generate new revenue streams.

This is why YES is going to continue to bring speakers to you in 2015 that know how to harness Conscious Capitalism.  Haven’t read the book?  Get a copy – it will be an inspirational journey.
